The „white heart“ flies in the world – finissage of the children’s art exhibition
Yesterday, Sunday, May 3rd 2009, the children’s pictures exhibition „White Heart“ at the „Christengemeischaft“ in Darmstadt was closed. The wonderfull, imaginative and cheerful images were created at a painting session in January this year at the same place, accompanied by the artist Eva M. Leitschuh. At the closing ceremony all young artists, their families and other interested people came together. They were invited by the initiators Kurt Friedrich and Gisela Thriemer, both founding members of the „White Heart“. This newly founded movement wants to establish the „White Heart“ as a symbol for the empathic dialogue between people around the world and presented itself to the public with this action for the first time.
In order to extend the range of attention and also to reach people who were not able to visit the exhibition, there was a surprise for all participants in the end who led them out of the exhibition rooms. Equipped with white heart balloons that carried postcards with motifs from the children’s pictures, the colorful crowd walked from Morgensternweg to Mathildenhoehe
to send out the message of the „white heart“ from this place into the world. The Mathildenhoehe, internationally known as the ‚Centre of Art Nouveau „and therefore one of the starting points of the life reform movement of the early 20th century,
offered itself and its spirit to this event in the literal and the figurative sense. And so almost 100 white hearts started of as a symbol of the dialogue.
